Can u take nortriptyline and plaquenil together

It's so frustrating not being able to stay asleep, as I'm sure many of you know. I take 20mg of nortriptyline nightly, but it hasn't helped my sleep issue.

Nortriptyline is the only medication I'm on and when I called my neurologist this past week with my question about the melatonin, his receptionist got back with me with the answer. So I didn't talk to my doctor myself, but the receptionist said that he said it would be okay to mix the two. Plaquenil can cause retinal damage which can be reversed if caught early. The damage to your eye would start with your peripheral vision which is why a visual field test is necessary. While taking Plaquenil, a visual field test should be performed every 6 months to monitor your vision. Visual field testing is simple and painless. Plaquenil is the brand name for the prescription drug hydroxychloroquine. It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as.

I'm wondering if anyone has had success using melatonin with nortriptyline to aid in their sleep? I asked my doctor if I could try adding melatonin to my routine and he said yes, but I would probably be very sleepy. Despite being sleep deprived for the past several months, my brain is oddly awake. I will sleep from 11pm-2am and then feel "awake" for the rest of the night.

Appropriate studies performed to date have not demonstrated geriatric-specific problems that would limit the usefulness of nortriptyline in the elderly. Retinal Screening for Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil Toxicity In particular, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil are two such medications, with the potential for retinal toxicity. Given that the retinal damage from these medications is largely irreversible, screening by a retinal specialist is critical to detect early retinal toxicity to try and limit the extent of visual loss.
