    Plaquenil and low white blood count


    I was diagnosed with discoid lupus 18 years ago and was prescribed Plaquenil, which I have taken since then. In October 2012, I was also diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome but, as I was already taking Plaquenil, was advised the treatment was the same for Sjogrens.

At a recent medical with my doctor, blood tests were taken and I had a call a couple of days later telling me to stop taking g Plaquenil immediately as I have a very low white cell count and that it is sometimes a side effect of Plaquenil.
